ALLY REHMTULAH’S ZAIN FASHION FOR EDUCATION CONCERT AT ST. LAUREATE A BIG SUCCESS!

The Fashion for Education team yesterday held its second Fashion for Education benefit concert at St Laureate International School in Mbezi Beach. The benefit is a charity event that aims at raising funds for the deteriorating situation facing Kisarawe Secondary Schools.

The show kicked off with a dance from Tanzania House of Talent (THT), a traditional dance from St Laureate’s Drama School and thereafter an exclusive Ally Remtullah runway collection modeled by some of the female students from the school.
The head mistress of the school, Mrs. Kinga, said when thanking Ally for his great initiative “ on behalf of the school I would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Ally Rehmtullah and the entire Zain Fashion for education team for a great concert and for raising awareness on the situation facing Kisarawe secondary schools to the St Laureate community. It has made our students realize how privileged they are to have all these learning facilities and it has also made them understand the importance of giving back to the community by contributing towards schools in Kisarawe.”

The St. Laurent Secondary school managed to raise 1,000,000 Tshs for this campaign. When receiving the funds Ally said “I am very pleased by the support we have received from the school. The students here went out of their way to collect funds from their families and friends, this goes to show just how responsible the students are to their country’s development.”

Ally, in association with ZAIN, has teamed up with the Kisarawe Education Development Fund to carry out a two months campaign to raise Tshs. 100,000,000 for the Kisarawe Secondary Schools.

The campaign was launched in the beginning of February 2010 by the Deputy Minister for Education Hon. Mwantumu Mahiza and will culminate in a gala to be held towards the end of April.

In addition to ZAIN, the other partners in this project are Ashton Energy, Stanbic Bank, Century Cinemax, MeTL, Double Tree Hilton, DeskTop productions, Pilipili Entertainment, CloudsFM, i-View Photography, Hugo Domingo and Nipe5.
