Information, Innovation, Revolution – Africa and Germany as reflected in the Media
on 10 and 11 September in Hamburg.
The opportunities for participating in and indeed helping to shape public communication and public opinion are greater today than ever before. Blogs, Wikipedia, citizen journalism, social media etc. The congress will includes key players from Germany and African countries to come and discuss the potential for civic engagement and intercultural exchange with the media sector.
PR BLOG itaungana na other successful bloggers and citizen journalists katika nchi za Germany, Nigeria,Kenya,Ghana and Uganda and discuss with them suitable formats and ideas for engaging in partnership initiatives and collaborating with different media.
The first evening will be rounded off with some activities and the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere over music and refreshments.
On the second day will begin work with. to develop specific models for new German-African partnership projects.
“Do tanks” (pro-active think tanks) will work on the following focus areas:
1. Training and professional development in the media environment
2. Online journalism
3. Youth media
4. Radio
This symposium is being held as part of the partnership programme of the Partnership with Africa Foundation e.V. and the Africa Initiative of the Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).The programme promotes and coordinates civic engagement in Germany and African countries. One of the key objectives of COMENGA is to convey contemporary, differentiated images of the respective realities of life in Africa and Germany.
